Facilities and Services
The Center is designed to facilitate research and teaching in China for Stanford faculty and students. SCPKU has created a productive work environment in a quiet academic setting that may serve as an office for scholars or a home base for field research elsewhere in China. The proximity of Chinese scholars at PKU and nearby Tsinghua University and Renmin University can provide new opportunities for convenient academic dialogue and collaboration.
Facilities
Offices and Workspaces
Individual offices and workspaces can be reserved for long- or short-term visits. Spacious rooms are available for collaborative programs and permanent, multi-year programs may re-configure larger offices to match their needs. Offices have standard business amenities and access to services including Internet access, fax and copy machines, and mailboxes.
Classrooms and Conference Facilities
SCPKU offers a unique venue in an academic and scenic setting for Stanford-sponsored events. There are flexible and configurable spaces on all three levels that can accommodate classes, seminars, lectures, meetings, receptions and conferences.

Services
The Center's bilingual staff members are available to assist with important logistical needs and to ensure that the SCPKU experience is productive and enjoyable, even for those who don't speak Chinese.
For on-site event planning, key services provided include:
- Airport car service bookings
- PKU vehicle entrance permits
- All catering and other dining arrangements
- Audio-visual (including the availability of Stanford cable service content)
- Translation services
- Internet access
- Printing/copying of presentations and handouts
- Signage (including guideposts on PKU campus)
For accommodations, Traveling to SCPKU and Beijing provides information on housing options near SCPKU. These arrangements should be handled directly with the service provider although SCPKU's staff can provide general guidance on the best options for your needs.

Usage Fees
Rates to hold events and for office space for longer-term programs are competitive with those charged by PKU and other facility providers in the area. Office space usage fees include utilities and access to basic services such as Internet access, fax and copy machines, and mailboxes. If needed, these usage fees may be funded by grants, awards, fellowships, and endowments. For more information and reservations, contact Connie Chao.
